It has been 400 years since the Dutch White Lion boat docked in the city of Jamestown, in the USA. Inside it traveled 20 Africans – won during a naval battle against the Spaniards – whom the Dutch intended to exchange on American soil for food and provisions. This event of 1619 led to a systematic trafficking of human beings, such as slaves, known as the Atlantic trade or triangular trade, which took place until the 19th century.
