The origins of the Estense Gallery date back to the 15th century with the collections held by the Dukes of the House of Este, which were progressively enriched until the 18th century. Among the best-known works are the Modena Triptych by El Greco, the Portrait of Francis I of Este by Velázquez and the Estense Harp. It also has an extensive collection of musical instruments, coins, medals, manuscripts and maps. The search can be refined by selecting the type of object and its location within the museum complex.
