This website is named after the French art historian Rose Valland (1898-1980), who after the Second World War was involved in several operations that led to the recovery of more than 40,000 pieces looted by the Nazi army. The site provides access to the catalogue of the so-called MNR (National Recovery Museums) as well as to various historical documents and legal texts.
