Digital dictionary of alphabets and abbreviations in Novo-Hispanic manuscripts administered by the Instituto de Investigaciones Filológicas of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and the Centro de Estudios Mayas. Project: Ak’ab Ts’ib (obscure or cipher writing). It has also been carried out with the support of the UNAM – DGAPA – PAPIME Programme, code PE403011. It is an essential website for academics and professionals whose work is focused on the transcription of historical documents. It is also a web resource that provides essential support for historians and researchers when exploring documentation sources. Through a series of thematic sections we can find different types of writing, neo-Latin abbreviations and a corpus of documents. Polite forms of address and formulas are transliterated according to the writing and the context. Regarding Latin abbreviations, it records the plural forms, the variation of gender or its ending. It also includes a glossary of terms within the official documentation, as well as an onomastic and toponymic index. In short, the user can compare the information and view a whole series of symbols, marginal apostilles, rubrics, scribal signs, warnings, engravings, drawings and cursive crosses in each document.
