Vasco de la Zarza, a preeminent sculptor from Avila, made this alabaster tomb of the bishop and scholar Alonso Fernández de Madrigal, nicknamed El Tostado. It is located in the back of Avila Cathedral. It is one of the finest examples of Spanish Renaissance funerary sculpture
