Igual que sus predecesores, permite al jugador convertirse en el gobernante de un Estado entre 1453 y 1820, para controlar los aspectos pol\u00edticos, militares, diplim\u00e1ticos, econ\u00f3micos, sociales, religiosos, cient\u00edficos y culturales. Cuenta con un espectacular mapa en 3D del mundo, que va cambiando seg\u00fan el a\u00f1o en que se elige iniciar el juego.
