GeaCron es una aplicaci\u00f3n de informaci\u00f3n geogr\u00e1fica implementada a partir de una base de datos vectoriales. La informaci\u00f3n que proporciona puede ser utilizada tanto en el campo de la investigaci\u00f3n hist\u00f3rica, como en todos los \u00e1mbitos educativos. La misi\u00f3n de GeaCron es hacer que la informaci\u00f3n hist\u00f3rica sea universalmente accesible para todos, a trav\u00e9s de mapas geo-temporales intuitivos y atractivos y l\u00edneas de tiempo configurables. Supone un sistema para representar eventos hist\u00f3ricos y mapas geopol\u00edticos de cualquier regi\u00f3n del mundo y para cualquier per\u00edodo hist\u00f3rico. Se pueden generar im\u00e1genes rasterizadas o archivos vectoriales como KML o shapefiles. Este dise\u00f1o permite que GeaCron sea interactivo, preciso, configurable, flexible, escalable y facilita el aumento de la informaci\u00f3n hist\u00f3rica. Los mapas muestran la situaci\u00f3n hist\u00f3rica del mundo al comienzo de cada a\u00f1o.
