Conocida anteriormente como Cappella Magna tom\u00f3 el nombre del papa Sixto IV, quien orden\u00f3 su restauraci\u00f3n entre 1477 y 1480. Su interior est\u00e1 decorado con frescos de un buen n\u00famero de pintores renacentistas (Perugino, Ghirlandaio, Botticelli, Roselli,&#8230;). Destaca la decoraci\u00f3n de la b\u00f3veda y el mural del altar realizados por Miguel \u00c1ngel. A trav\u00e9s de diferentes flechas direccionales, se pueden ver las obras tanto de sus muros como del techo.
