El Catastro del Marqu\u00e9s de la Ensenada, realizado a mediados del siglo XVIII en la Corona de Castilla, es una de las principales fuentes hist\u00f3ricas para el estudio de la demograf\u00eda, econom\u00eda y territorio. Se compuso de varios libros que trataban numerosos aspectos; el recurso que mostramos aqu\u00ed corresponde a los libros de Vecindario y Censo. Por regiones, los territorios de Andaluc\u00eda contaban con 1.462.449 habitantes, Castilla la Vieja y Le\u00f3n con 1.988.698, Castilla La Nueva, incluyendo Madrid, con 1.040.972, Extremadura tuvo 373.022 habitantes, mientras que Galicia y Murcia contaron con 1.299312 y 272.057 respectivamente. Un total aproximado de 6.436.510 habitantes para la Corona, donde las provincias m\u00e1s pobladas fueron Sevilla (694.771), Le\u00f3n (563.689) y Granada (545.285); las que menos habitantes ten\u00edan eran Zamora (62.304), Toro (79.212) y \u00c1vila (98.873).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
