La obtenci\u00f3n de agua para el cultivo siempre fue una de las preocupaciones sociales y econ\u00f3micas de las gentes productoras. Desde los sistemas h\u00eddricos bajomedievales hasta finales del Antiguo R\u00e9gimen, las t\u00e9cnicas y formas de agricultura de regad\u00edo evolucionaron de manera fructuosa. El recurso muestra la evoluci\u00f3n de los planteamientos \u00abandalus\u00edes\u00bb y \u00abfeudales\u00bb, d\u00e1ndoles un espacio cronol\u00f3gico diferenciado para ambos (siglos XIII-XIII para el primero, y XIII-XVIII para el segundo). No solo el avance tecnol\u00f3gico influy\u00f3; tambi\u00e9n la administraci\u00f3n del suelo irrigado, la morfolog\u00eda de las huertas, las prioridades mec\u00e1nicas, el uso social del agua y la gesti\u00f3n hidr\u00e1ulica propiciaron el desarrollo de la extensi\u00f3n de cultivo en regad\u00edo en el campo valenciano.
