Durante el Antiguo R\u00e9gimen, los derechos de monopolio constituyeron uno de los pilares fundamentales del r\u00e9gimen se\u00f1orial. El autor muestra c\u00f3mo en dos se\u00f1or\u00edos valencianos, Alfara y Burjasot, se produc\u00edan los monopolios. Los lugares m\u00e1s comunes donde se aplic\u00f3 este derecho fueron en el molino, horno, carnicer\u00eda y huerto. Los contratos de arrendamiento sol\u00edan ser cortoplacistas; entre 4 y 10 a\u00f1os en su mayor duraci\u00f3n. Por su parte, el cobro se estipulaba en anualidades, aunque dependiendo del bien arrendado estas pagas pod\u00edan ser abonadas en n\u00famero diferente: desde las pagas mensuales de algunos molinos, hasta las \u00fanicas de las carnicer\u00edas, huertas o tiendas.
