La solter\u00eda femenina durante el siglo XVIII fue una excepci\u00f3n al cumplimiento de las normas morales de la \u00e9poca, donde el matrimonio significaba el eje central del ciclo vital del individuo. No obstante, a las mujeres solteras se le atribuyeron una serie de connotaciones negativas por su independencia econ\u00f3mica, gestionando su patrimonio en soledad y desarrollando una vida sin la autoridad de una figura masculina. Respecto al conjunto de hogares, el 20.38% de las cabeza de familia, en la muestra representada, fueron mujeres. Desglosando este porcentaje, la mayor parte de las jefaturas femeninas estaban integradas por viudas, constituyendo el 16.66% mientras que las solteras sumaban el 3% sobre el total de cabezas de familia; las casadas alcanzaron el 0.7%.
