Durante el Antiguo R\u00e9gimen, los reyes y monarcas gozaron de la condici\u00f3n de soberanos absolutos (Monarqu\u00eda absoluta), concentrando bajo su mando todos los poderes. En esta imagen se representa la grandeza de la Corona Espa\u00f1ola como un astro tan poderoso como el sol (en la parte superior). En la parte central puede leerse: \u201cNunca el Monarca espa\u00f1ol conoce sombra en su Imperio, que en uno y otro hemisferio luce m\u00e1s, que el propio sol\u201d. En la parte de abajo, sostenidos por dos leones, puede observarse la representaci\u00f3n de la tierra, dividida en ambos hemisferios. El dibujo representar el poder de que goz\u00f3 el Imperio espa\u00f1ol durante la Edad Moderna, siendo el periodo m\u00e1s destacable desde finales del siglo XVI hasta mediados del siglo XVII, durante los reinados de Felipe II, Felipe III y Felipe IV. Durante el reinado de Felipe II lleg\u00f3 a decirse que \u201cel sol no se pon\u00eda en el Imperio\u00bb, ya que estaba lo suficientemente disperso como para tener siempre alguna zona con luz solar. Este imperio ten\u00eda su centro neur\u00e1lgico en Madrid sede de la Corte, siendo Sevilla el punto fundamental desde el que se organizaban las posesiones ultramarinas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
