Representa, en los aleda\u00f1os de la ermita del santo patrono de Madrid, a orillas del Manzanares, el d\u00eda de su fiesta, el 15 de mayo. Numerosos grupos de majos y majas se divierten cantando, comiendo y paseando a orillas del r\u00edo. El concepto de paisaje urbano difiere del de Goya, que pretendi\u00f3 una vista general de Madrid al fondo, y la pradera en primer t\u00e9rmino, con todo el bullicio del pueblo el d\u00eda de fiesta.
