Carlos V abdic\u00f3 en 1555 y se retir\u00f3 al monasterio Jer\u00f3nimo de Cuacos de Yuste, en C\u00e1ceres, donde encontr\u00f3 la paz eterna. Tras numerosas fiebres ocasionadas por la malaria y agravadas por la gota que sufr\u00eda, el Emperador falleci\u00f3 y se mand\u00f3 enterrar en dicho convento. Sin embargo, su hijo y sucesor, Felipe II, dispuso el traslado de los restos de su padre a la nueva construcci\u00f3n mon\u00e1stica: el Monasterio de El Escorial. Este surge por la necesidad filipina de albergar un pante\u00f3n familiar que marcara la diferencia entre la dinast\u00eda Trast\u00e1mara de los Reyes Cat\u00f3licos y el inicio de una nueva con Carlos V a quien se ir\u00edan sumando con el paso del tiempo sus descendientes en el Pante\u00f3n Real.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
