La composici\u00f3n queda dividida en tres planos: el primero se reserva al paje y San Hugo, el segundo al almuerzo simb\u00f3lico y el \u00faltimo a los siete frailes que se sit\u00faan detr\u00e1s de una mesa donde se recrea un bodeg\u00f3n. Sobre sus cabezas descansa un cuadro de la Virgen, el ni\u00f1o y San Juan Bautista, patronos de la orden. Resulta interesante la vestimenta del paje ya que sit\u00faa cronol\u00f3gicamente la obra, pues el cuello a la italiana, lel jub\u00f3n largo y los calzones y la peque\u00f1a volumetr\u00eda se encuentra a partir de 1635.
