En esta obra, el espectador a quien mira la mujer, asume el papel de pretendiente potencial. Sin embargo, cabe a\u00f1adir c\u00f3mo los j\u00f3venes holandeses incorporaron la m\u00fasica a su educaci\u00f3n como un m\u00e9todo de distinci\u00f3n. Los rizos apretados, las cintas rojas y la hebra de peque\u00f1as perlas en su cabello indica que es una joven dama de buena educaci\u00f3n y fina sensibiliidad .
