Era un cargo por el que no se obten\u00eda remuneraci\u00f3n y cuya duraci\u00f3n era de un a\u00f1o, lo que les llevaba a reunirse tres veces a la semana. El desempe\u00f1o que estos ten\u00eda en la cofrad\u00eda les llevaba, al ser elegidos por su comunidad, a velar por los intereses de la misma.
