Esta obra representa el interior del Sal\u00f3n de los Caballeros, conocido como Ridderzaal, en la Binnenhof de La Haya durante la Gran Asamblea General de 1651. En el interior se encuentran colgando del techo las banderas y estandartes capturados al enemigo. Los representantes de las siete provincias unidas de la Rep\u00fablica Holandesas se encuentras reunidos en el sal\u00f3n cuando por entonces, el gobernador Guillermo II, muri\u00f3 a finales de 1650.
