Ter Borch pint\u00f3 muchas de estas escenas de g\u00e9nero en las que los personajes principales est\u00e1n absortos durante el tiempo que dura la acci\u00f3n. En este sentido, la caza de piojos contiene una moraleja, ya que el orden y la limpieza eran las cualidades ideales de una buena ama de casa.
