Pintura que muestra la presencia de una embajada marroqu\u00ed ante la presencia de Carlos III. Se trata de la embajada llevaba a cabo por U\u1e6fm\u0101n al-Makn\u0101s\u012b, enviado del sult\u00e1n marroqu\u00ed para acordar tanto la renovaci\u00f3n de paz entre ambos reinos, como para tratar la liberaci\u00f3n de cautivos musulmanes en Espa\u00f1a. Las relaciones diplom\u00e1ticas entre Espa\u00f1a y el Reino de Marruecos se remontan al siglo XVI, cuando los monarcas sa\u2019adies precisaron de la protecci\u00f3n espa\u00f1ola para afrontar la expansi\u00f3n otomana y argelina en el mediterr\u00e1neo occidental. Lo que hace especial este periodo que protagoniza Carlos III en el siglo XVIII es la voluntad desde ambas orillas por cerrar un capitulo de siglos de mutuo hostigamiento. A este encuentro diplom\u00e1tico seguir\u00edan las important\u00edsimas paces acordadas con el Imperio Otomano y posteriormente con Argelia, T\u00fanez y Tr\u00edpoli en la d\u00e9cada de los noventa del XVIII.
