La victoria de Felipe V en la Guerra de Sucesi\u00f3n espa\u00f1ola (1701-1714) supuso la implantaci\u00f3n en Espa\u00f1a de una nueva realidad pol\u00edtica y administrativa. Las antiguas instituciones feudales fueron sustitu\u00eddas por otras formas de gobierno centralistas cuyo objetivo era, en palabras de Felipe V, implantar \u00abunas mismas leyes, usos, costumbres y tribunales […] abolir y derogar enteramente […] todos los fueros, privilegios, pr\u00e1cticas y costumbres…\u00bb. La nueva realidad generalizaba a todo el territorio la legislaci\u00f3n de Castilla. No osbtante, los territorios que apoyaron a Felipe en contra del Archiduque Carlos, las zonas vascas y Navarra, s\u00ed mantuvieron el r\u00e9gimen foral.
