La Casa de Contrataci\u00f3n, instalada en los Reales Alc\u00e1zares de Sevilla en 1503, fue el primer \u00f3rgano administrativo creado ex profeso para la gesti\u00f3n de Am\u00e9rica. En 1717 se traslad\u00f3 a C\u00e1diz hasta su extinci\u00f3n en 1790. En dicha instituci\u00f3n se organizaban, gestionaban y tramitaban las expediciones a Am\u00e9rica; as\u00ed mismo, controlaban las actividades comerciales y el tr\u00e1nsito de personas. Si bien existieron otras Casas de Contrataci\u00f3n en la Pen\u00ednsula, la de Sevilla tuvo el monopolio del comercio entre Espa\u00f1a y sus territorios americanos; para ello, fue necesaria la colaboraci\u00f3n con el gremio de comerciantes y la determinaci\u00f3n del puerto de Sevilla, que se convirti\u00f3 en el \u00fanico autorizado para tales actividades.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
