As\u00ed, miles y miles de personas fueron trasladadas hacia diversas regiones del planeta, como bien conocemos en el caso del continente americano. Este recurso da acceso a una gran base de datos denominada \u00abBase de datos del tr\u00e1fico trasatl\u00e1ntico de esclavos\u00bb que recoge una inmensa cantidad de informaci\u00f3n sobre el desarrollo de la esclavitud desde el siglo XVI hasta finales del XIX. Es un proyecto apoyado por La Fundaci\u00f3n Nacional para las Humanidades (National Endowment for the Humanities, Estados Unidos) fruto del esfuerzo desarrollado por acad\u00e9micos de diferentes instituciones, entre ellos, historiadores, cart\u00f3grafos y especialistas e investigadores en el tr\u00e1fico de esclavos.
