{"id":25001,"date":"2022-12-01T13:41:33","date_gmt":"2022-12-01T12:41:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/historylab.es\/the-modern-atlases-in-the-17th-century\/"},"modified":"2023-01-10T18:10:21","modified_gmt":"2023-01-10T17:10:21","slug":"los-atlas-modernos-en-el-siglo-xvii","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/historylab.es\/es\/los-atlas-modernos-en-el-siglo-xvii\/","title":{"rendered":"Los atlas modernos en el siglo XVII"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"es\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Los grandes cart\u00f3grafos, grabadores y editores de globos terr\u00e1queos y mapas del siglo XVII fueron holandeses, empezando por Willem Janszoon Blaeu (1571-1638), quien inici\u00f3 un negocio familiar de extraordinario \u00e9xito.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">En 1635, Willelm, quien tambi\u00e9n era el cart\u00f3grafo oficial de la Compa\u00f1\u00eda de las Indias Orientales, la poderosa VOC (Vereenigde Oost-Indische compagnie) que dominaba el comercio y la \u00abcultura\u00bb de los viajes de exploraci\u00f3n hacia el Este, inici\u00f3 la publicaci\u00f3n del \u00abAtlas Novus\u00bb,<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">un atlas inspirado en el \u00abTheatrum Orbis Terrarum\u00bb actualizado de Ortelius;<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">su hijo Joan (1596-1673) continu\u00f3 la empresa con el Atlas Maior, una grandiosa obra, igualmente cient\u00edfica y popular, en 11 vol\u00famenes y 594 mapas, publicada entre 1662 y 1665.
