Pouches were used to store administrative and financial records for individual captains and their retinues so they could be easily retrieved for referral or amendments. This is one of only a few pouches which survive for an individual retinue serving on the Agincourt campaign. This pouch, confirmed by the Latin script written on its front, was used to store records of the retinue of Sir Simon Felbrigg, an important knight from Norfolk.
