Self-portrait by the Murcian painter Pedro de Orrente (1580-1645). It is notable for the signature at the top, where he defines himself as Pedro Orrente Murçiano. He was an important artist who worked in Toledo, Murcia and Valencia, as well as having travelled to Italy, where he was a disciple of the Bassano family. He is known for his twilight landscapes with scenes from the Old and New Testament.
