The conquests of Pizarro and Alvarado in Mexico, the discovery of the Amazon by Orellana, and the struggles between Pizarro and Almagro for control of the New World are reviewed. We will also see Father Las Casas defending the Indians. There will be dramatisations of TVE archive programmes and feature films such as El Dorado by Carlos Saura, Cabeza de vaca by Nicolás de Echevarría, Aguirre, la cólera de Dios by Werner Herzog, El rey pasmado by Imanol Uribe and El corsario by Tony Mulligan. It is advised by Ricardo García Cárcel and has a running time of 44:51 minutes
