]]> The resource shows the battle that took place in the fields of Almansa, on 25 April 1707, during the confrontation between Habsburgs and Bourbons in the context of the War of Succession (1701-1715), for the succession to the Crown of Spain. In this confrontation, Philip V’s troops defeated those of Archduke Charles of Austria. The victory of the Bourbon troops was not decisive for the war, but it did open the gates of the Kingdom of Valencia, which was occupied by the Bourbon army. This entailed the loss of its Fueros, when Philip V enacted the Nueva Planta Decree in 1707
