]]> Rubens’s composition depicts the interior of a barn used for various operations with cattle, horses, milkmaids at work and tramps warming themselves by the fire, with various views of the farmyard and the village in the immediate distance. The man leaning on the basaton in the centre of the composition was originally on the left edge. In addition, there is a display of various farm implements in the foreground.
