The royal chapel of Granada, which was erected to preserve the remains of the Catholic Monarchs, was built in Gothic style between 1505 and 1517. The 16th century is the century of the chapel’s fullness, where the sobriety of the building is highlighted. Under Emperor Charles I it continued to flourish with all kinds of decorations. Today, the mark left by Queen Isabella, in a certain sense, marks the large number of visits that take place every year. On this website, users can access the history of the monument, as well as take a guided tour where they can see the different cultural contributions that the chapel has undergone over the last 500 years. This portal also contains complementary information on the Lonja, built in 1518 by the Granada City Council.

The post Royal Chapel of Granada first appeared on History Lab.

Agrega 2 is a project developed between the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, Red.es and the Autonomous Communities. It is a repository of educational content that can be found organised according to the content curriculum in Secondary Education and Baccalaureate and can be stored and used online. The centralisation covers a wide range of topics. In this case, the chosen theme is the music of the Modern Age around characteristic figures of the period such as the Sevillian composer Francisco Guerrero or Cristóbal Morales. It also discusses Baroque and secular music, highlighting the fundamental role of the organ as a key instrument in the field of composition. The website acts as an editable resource where you can complete small exercises and notes that highlight the highlights.

The post Music in the Modern Age: Francisco Guerrero first appeared on History Lab.
