]]> In this work by Miguel and Juan González, intended for Charles II and forming part of a set of 24 panels, it shows the coronation of the king of Texcoco by Mocteuma and Hernán Cortés while the former is taken prisoner. In an intermediate shot is the distribution of the gold among the soldiers, while in the foreground are the Spanish soldiers opening the prisons to free the Indians. The work is painted using the technique of “enconchado”. This is applied on a wooden support lined with linen cloth and in some cases a plaster preparation is applied, fragments of nacre are applied with animal glue and then covered with the pictorial layer.
