]]> It is located in the Château de Caén, a building built on the orders of William I of England. Its collections of European painting from the 16th and 17th centuries make it one of the most important museums in France. Luca Giordano, Guercino, Perugino, Tintoretto, Champaigne, and Simon Vouet are all represented in this rare collection. The 19th century is notable for Courbet, Delacroix, Géricault and the Barbizon School. Its Cabinet of Prints brings together more than 50,000 engravings (Callot, Dürer, Rembrandt, Piranesi, Sadeler) from the private collection of Bernard Mancel Caen (1798-1872). The collections are displayed according to genres, techniques and periods.

]]> Access to more than 30,000 pieces on display at the Louvre Museum. The images of the works are displayed in high resolution and are accompanied by the technical data sheet, a brief commentary, the location and the possibility of viewing small details of the works. In addition to certain works from the Egyptian and Mesopotamian cultures and others from Greek, Etruscan and Roman art, the Louvre houses numerous pieces of Islamic art (7th-19th centuries) and decorative arts (from the Middle Ages to the 19th century). However, it stands out for its collection of French paintings (Poussin, Ingres, Géricault, Watteau, Delacroix) and for having the most valuable collection of works by Leonardo da Vinci. Works by Rubens, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Zurbarán, Murillo, José de Ribera and Goya also hang on its walls.
