Radio documentary that deals with the figure of Cardinal Cisneros as a man of the Church and of the State at a key time in the history of Spain, the reign of the Catholic Monarchs. Between the Middle Ages and the Modern Age, in the midst of a serious political, dynastic and religious crisis, he stood out for his reforms in the ecclesiastical sphere and for his intervention in political life. With a script by Modesta Cruz, Documentos RNE takes a closer look at the historical figure of Cardinal Cisneros with the testimony of professors Miguel Ángel Ladero and Antonio Alvar Ezquerra, professor José Luis Gonzalo Sánchez-Molero, and the director of the International Centre for Cisneros Historical Studies at the University of Alcalá, Dolores Cabañas. It also features the opinions of the Hispanist and Prince of Asturias laureate, Joseph Pérez

The post Cardinal Cisneros, Church and State policy first appeared on History Lab.
