]]> This map represents the jurisdiction of the Bishopric of Malaga, marking, on the one hand, the boundaries with the Archbishoprics of Granada and Seville, as well as with the Bishopric of Cordoba. On the other hand, some of the characteristic population centres such as the city of Malaga or the town of Marbella are especially highlighted. The work referred to here was written in 1782 by the historian and geographer Cristóbal Medina Conde y Herrera (1726-1798). The commercial and economic tradition developed on the coast of Malaga led to the attempt to improve, from a technical point of view and as far as possible, the geographical location and delimitation, as well as the improvement of coastal cartography.
