										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Terch Borch became famous for his intimate scenes in which the figures seem absorbed by the action taking place in their presence. In this scene, a soldier is depicted receiving a letter from a messenger. It is easy to imagine that the letter is a call to the front, which is easy to imagine from the soldier&#8217;s expression.
