ProQuest together with a large number of partnerships have created a collection of content that encompasses up to 90,000 authoritative sources and 6 billion digital pages spanning a time coordinate of six centuries. It is one of the largest collections in the world. In this case, the database we offer includes numerous references to Spanish Golden Age theatre from the 16th and 17th centuries. Specifically, we will find around 800 plays by 16 renowned playwrights, including Lope de Vega and Calderón de la Barca. The Editorial Board has chosen especially careful editions, bringing together collections that are distributed in different European libraries.

Golden Age Digital Library

The Golden Age Digital Library (BIDISO) was born in 1992 from the Interdisciplinary Seminar for the Study of Spanish Golden Age Literature (SIELAE), of the University of A Coruña (SPAIN), as well as from several research projects subsidised by the Xunta de Galicia, the Spanish Government (National R+D Plan, National R+D+I Plan) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Its repository provides access to first-hand literary and historical sources, dealing with the history of books, libraries and the History of Art in the 16th and 17th centuries. This library is a platform for easy consultation for all those interested, especially researchers in the fields of Literature and Modern History. As indicated on the website, users have access to digitised editions containing inventories of private or institutional libraries from the Golden Age, Emblemática, Relaciones de sucesos, Enciclopedias and Repertorios de lugares comunes, among others.

Prado Museum. Collection.

The Prado Museum was inaugurated in 1819. It houses the largest collections of works by Bosch, Titian, El Greco, Rubens, Velázquez and Goya. Although painting predominates, especially that of the 16th and 17th centuries, the museum also houses sculptures, decorative works and works on paper from Antiquity to the 19th century. Resources can be searched by author, theme, period, school, material, support, technique, type of work, catalogue number and location, as well as by iconography.
