The official website describes: Samsara explores the wonders of our world from the mundane to the miraculous, looking into the unfathomable reaches of humanity’s spirituality and the human experience. Neither a traditional documentary nor a travelogue, Samsara takes the form of a nonverbal, guided meditation.

The post Samsara first appeared on History Lab.

Discovered on December 18, 1994, it is considered one of the most significant prehistoric art sites and the UN’s cultural agency UNESCO granted it World Heritage status in 2014. Hundreds of animal paintings have been catalogued (lions, mammoths, horses, aurochs, etc.). This combination of subjects has led some students of prehistoric art and cultures to believe that there was a ritual, shamanic, or magical aspect to these paintings.

The post The Chauvet-Pont d’Arc Cave first appeared on History Lab.
