Diego de Funes was a master carpenter at the age of 28. He was married to a 25-year-old woman and had two children: a 3-year-old boy and a 1-year-old girl. His work as a master carpenter meant that he had apprentices in his charge. This was the case of José Navarro, aged 17, single and an orphan, which made him dependent on Diego. However, the absence of servants is notable. We suppose that, despite his trade and status, his young age prevented him from being able to afford people in his service.
