The historical reconstruction is very gimmicky and the series has many historical inaccuracies. Rigour is sacrificed to the extent that the series becomes more of a visual spectacle of historical setting than a portrait of one of the most prominent monarchs of the 16th century.

]]> British-American television miniseries, based on the novels by Philippa Gregory, which focuses on the figure of Queen Catherine of Aragon, wife of Henry VIII of England. The series is disastrous from the point of view of historical rigour, repeating clichés and making continual inaccuracies. It could be an exercise in historical criticism for teachers and students. Surprisingly, after the first season, a second season arrived. So far, 16 episodes have been filmed.
