Genealogy of a family belonging to the local elite of Vélez-Málaga, what some authors have called urban nobility, essentially characterised by their lack of titles but being considered as such in their locality, as well as for being intermediaries between the royal power and their subjects. The Igualadas occupied regidurias in the Municipal Council from the end of the 17th century, gaining access to the post by purchase and carrying out consolidation strategies through marriage links with the families of their fellow councillors or titled nobility, which can be clearly seen in the family tree.
